"Leviathans" Artist Statement

Updated: Sep 13, 2022

"Leviathans" is a new body of abstract seascapes created using Intentional Camera Movement, and was photographed on various beaches across the Isle Of Wight.

The work draws inspiration from Abstract Expressionist artists such as Rothko, and also abstract artists working today such as David Mankin. Leviathans is a further examination of shape, colour and light, and is the follow up body of work to the "Fathom Collection".

Similar to "Fathom", this body of work illustrates the emotional connection that I feel for the Coast, and the precious time that is spent there, and aims to evoke an emotional response from the viewer. For me, this would be a sense of calm, peace, and solitude.

"Leviathans" beautifully captures the spirit of the sea through abstract seascapes that blend motion, emotion, and artistry. The use of Intentional Camera Movement gives each piece a dreamlike flow, reminiscent of Rothko’s expressive tones and David Mankin’s contemporary abstractions. This collection not only explores the depth of shape, color, and light but also mirrors the dedication found in creative fields like assignment writing services Germany, where precision and interpretation shape remarkable outcomes.

Examining abstract artwork such as "Leviathans" demonstrates how the use of color and shape can inspire strong feelings in the viewer. It has been difficult for me to juggle academic deadlines with my own creative interests, particularly when I'm motivated but pressed for time. In order to focus on personal projects without falling behind in my studies, I then turn to services that assist me in do my assignment nz. Having that support enables me to successfully balance my academic obligations and my love of art.
