Experience the rugged beauty, sights, sounds and smells of some of the most beautiful beaches in the U.K with this Abstract and ICM photography retreat with Mark Cornick and Shona Perkins.

Visit the beaches that first inspired Mark to create ICM photographs, whilst learning everything there is to know about ICM and Abstract photography in this 4 day all immersive retreat experience.

Retreat Highlights

Based on the far South West Coast of Cornwall, we will experience the pure rugged beauty of the Coast.

In November the beaches will be wild and untamed, with crashing waves and stunning winter light.

Location

Although primarily an ICM based retreat, the locations we visit have so much potential for exploring a variety of abstract techniques.

We will look at multiple exposures, intimate scenes, colour, shape and texture.

Abstraction

Mark and Shona strongly believe in the importance of project photography and building a coherent portfolio of work.

We will encourage repeat visits to locations at different times of day to help you build a strong body of work you can be proud of.

Project Based Photography

During the retreat we will go into depth and teach you all there is to know about Intentional Camera Movement and creating ethereal and impactful images.

The Beaches

The beaches....This is why we are here, in one of the most stunning locations, not only in the U.K, but across the planet. Our base location at Land's End is perfect for exploring a number of sensational locations, that in the month of November will be rugged, wild and breath taking.

Sennen Cove - This is where Mark has spent countless hours photographing his "Fathom" portfolio of ICM images. Wide expanses of sand, the untamed Atlantic breakers, and stunning dunes and grasses make this one of the must see locations.

Gwenver - Located just one bay from Sennen, this hidden gem is the perfect companion beach to Sennen.

Porthcurno - One of the most sensational beaches there is. The colour of the water and sand will make you think you could be in a tropical paradise - except it will be November and the surf will be crashing around us in spectacular fashion. We can also venture along the cliff walk to take in the infamous Pedn Vounder and Logan Rock.

Porth Nanven - Also known as the "dinosaur egg" beach, this small and intimate location has unlimited potential for exploring intimate and abstract scenes.
